I could not have asked for better timing when receiving my Thermal-Aid Natural Heating and Cooling Packs in the mail to review.
By total coincidence, they arrived the day before my daughter hurt her chin and she needed to get stitches. She usually screams when I come towards her with any type of ice pack (covered with a towel because otherwise it’s too cold); when I came to her with the adorable “Happy the Hippo” not only did her scared face turn into a huge smile, but she also gave it a big hug and put it right on her chin where it hurt. (Read More after the jump).

The Thermal-Aid  was in the freezer for a day and when I removed it I was pleasantly surprised how cold it was and because it’s made of a stuffed animal  that took the place of needing a towel  around it and  it took one step away from comforting her right away.  When we were done with it I put it back in the freezer and she went 30 minutes later to take it out and put it back on her chin and it was already cold! While she rested on the couch, I saw her cuddling with the Hippo while putting the cold on her chin. Without realizing it she was comforting herself… all by herself.

Later that night my son woke up with a fever of 102, he was so hot and lethargic. He is not a fan of ice packs as well, but as soon as I took out “Jo Jo the Monkey” his cry turned into a smile. He immediately gave it a kiss and a hug.  While he was lying down he was able to cool off with the Thermal-Aid Zoo Animal.  Once again I was able to put it in the freezer and within a short amount of time it was cold again and ready to be used by my son. Each animal is soft and cuddly just like any other soft stuffed animal and I can see how any child would love to hold and hug it.

After a hard workout my husband was complaining of a knot in his shoulder, I thought to try Thermal-Aid and once again it came to our rescue.  I microwaved it for 45 seconds and it warmed up nicely! The only regret I have is not having this sooner, because I’ve gone through several late nights with my children having fevers, and injuries and this by far is the only thing that helped make their injury feel better as well as comforting them while they had a fever.  It also makes a great present.

The Thermal-Aid Zoo Animals can be purchased at www.thermal-aid.com, Walgreens & Costco.

Thank you to Thermal-Aid for sending product for review purposes.
