It’s really important to me that my children and I eat healthy. My 5 1/2 year old daughter eats practically everything, but my older son and younger son are very picky. That’s why I was so jazzed to hear of YummyHealth and get the chance to work with them.
YummyHealth’s mission is to “Take the Fight Out of Food”. As this is something I deal with on a daily basis in my home, I applaud this.
They make these awesome bars and snacks that my family has just fallen in love it. When I opened my package from YummyHealth, my kids went crazy (packaged snacks do elicit that reaction). But these snacks were healthy (which my kids didn’t know). As bloggers always do, I set up a cute shot.. My almost 3 year old walked right over and took a bar!
We love this about YummyHealth: Founder Lisa started building YummyHealth with the idea that kids can have both delicious snacks and good nutrition. Some snacks already on the market are better for kids than typical junk foods, but they’re not fooling anyone into thinking they taste like junk food. ‘Made from Whole Grains’ sounds healthy, the fact is that most of these grains are quickly broken down into yet more sugar in your kid’s body. That was the challenge, and it was a big one: to make snacks that kids would happily eat in place of their favorite junk foods, but with much less sugar and next to no processed starch, and without problematic ingredients like gluten, high-fructose corn syrup, and artificial dyes and preservatives.
We think they succeeded wonderfully — but you can taste for yourself. For the next two days, I’ll be running around Chicago with a MadPax red bubble backpack full of YummyHealth Bars and Snacks (they are my sponsor), so tweet me @themamamaven to find out where I am!
